How to use

5 steps for Samsung Galaxy water eject

1
Check for built-in Water Lock first

On Galaxy S and Z series: Settings → Advanced Features → Water Lock → Start. If available, run it 2–3 times. If not available on your model (A series), proceed to step 2.

💡 Water Lock path may vary: Settings → Advanced Features → Motions and Gestures on some models
2
Open in Samsung Internet or Chrome

Open myspeakerrepair.com/android/samsung/ in Samsung Internet or Chrome on the affected Galaxy phone. Both browsers fully support the Web Audio API needed for the ejection tone.

💡 Samsung Internet is pre-installed on all Galaxy phones and works best
3
Set media volume to maximum

Press volume up until the bar is full. On Galaxy phones: long-press the volume bar to reveal separate Ring and Media sliders. Ensure the Media slider is at maximum — the ejection tone plays as media audio, not a ringtone.

💡 Do Not Disturb mode can restrict media volume — disable it first
4
Select your Galaxy series and tap Eject

Choose your Galaxy series in the tool above, then tap Eject Water. Immediately hold your Galaxy phone with the USB-C port facing the floor. For stereo Galaxy phones (S series), gravity helps both speakers drain simultaneously.

💡 Z Fold: run with phone fully open and fully closed for complete coverage
5
Complete 3 rounds, wipe grille, air-dry

Run all 3 cycles. After each, firmly wipe the speaker grille with a dry lint-free cloth to remove ejected droplets. Air-dry for 30 minutes before charging. Samsung’s wireless charging generates heat — avoid using it until the phone is completely dry.

💡 Do not use wireless charging until fully dry — heat can expand remaining water

IP ratings explained

IP68 Galaxy phones still need water eject

IP68 protects internal components — but the speaker mesh must remain open, so water enters regardless of IP rating.

FAQ

Samsung Galaxy water eject questions

Yes. Samsung Galaxy S series (S20 and newer) and Galaxy Z Fold/Flip include a built-in Water Lock feature at Settings → Advanced Features → Water Lock. Galaxy A series and older models do not have this feature — use our free online tool instead.
Method 1 (S/Z series): Settings → Advanced Features → Water Lock → Start. Run 2–3 times. Method 2 (all models): Open this page in Samsung Internet, set media volume to max, select your Galaxy series, and tap Eject Water. Hold the phone with USB-C facing down.
No. Galaxy A series phones (A55, A35, A25, A15 and all A variants) do not include the built-in Water Lock feature. Use our free online tool: open this page in Chrome or Samsung Internet on your Galaxy A phone, set volume to max, and tap Eject Water.
One ejection cycle takes 4 minutes. For complete water removal, run 3 cycles (about 12–15 minutes total). Most Galaxy phones show significant improvement after the first cycle. Allow the phone to air-dry for 30 minutes after the final cycle before charging — including wireless charging.
Try 3 more cycles with the phone tilted at a different angle. Use the Dust Cleaner tool to remove debris. Leave the Galaxy face-down on a dry surface for 30 minutes between attempts. If audio remains distorted after 24 hours, there may be corrosion or damage requiring Samsung Authorised Service.
